Well now, it's been exactly two months since the last demodir newspost and there have been a few additions so it's time to unravel the mystery. I know you're all holding your breaths so I won't keep you in suspense with irrelevant banter. (Yeah, right.) I'll try to do this starting from the old ones and moving up to the two tracks I just put there five minutes ago.

"I'm Still Here" [stillhere.ogg] is nothing but an almost four minutes long build-up. It's quirky pop with a low-fidelity lead that will make your head hurt when listening with headphones so don't go there. I like it anyway, at least when played on speakers. It's a retrack of an old unfinished song.
"Mistakes" [mistakes2.ogg] is a drum'n'bass experiment gone horribly wrong. I tried to create something drummy and melodic like in "kuin kuka tahansa" [kuin_kuka_tahansa.mp3] (this one is terribly old, almost a year now) but digressed as usual. Even the actual punchline isn't very strong. It's a multipart thingy. Not that it matters I suppose.
June
Nothing in June, except an updated version of "Story Untold" [untold3.ogg]. There's an entirely new part in the end that sounds pretty good, but is severely out of sync with the rest of the song. That's how it is with most of my songs so I don't care.
July
Busy month! Hard to believe with the heatwave that's hit Nurmijärvi this week. We have a very small update to "Song For The Rain" [fortherain2.ogg]. The two new patterns at the end were done ages ago, I just added this updated version now.
"kahvimuki" [kahvimuki.ogg] is yet another retrack of an old unfinished song. Actually, the old song was pretty much finished and I might upload it. I thought it wasn't good enough to be a saboteur-release at the time, but I'm over such worries now. I know I can upload any sort of crap as long as I think it makes sense. Especially since none of you care to begin with. Features a sample from 10,000 Maniacs.
"Uncharted Territory" [uncharted.ogg] is actually my second try to get something groovy going with a rhodes lick. Talk about wasted effort. I can't make it work with the kind of samples I have. And as usual, I started drifting away from the actual idea, as is demonstrated by the gratuitious use of a Michael Jackson sample. Oh lord am I hitting the bottom here.
"A Triumph Theme" [triumph.ogg] is just a theme exercise. It's kind of triumphant, for some reason I cannot fathom, because there have been no triumphs in my life right now at all. As usual. The tracking was a little different on this one, it's in the 3/4 time signature. Otherwise it's pretty generic.
Wow, long update! If you've made it this far, help yourself to a cookie - I'm sure it wasn't easy. I'm only sorry I can't offer you any special treat. Maybe next time.
