You give for the causes that you deem are worth while.
The Fight AIDS at Home project has advanced to the second phase with a new management team. Everybody needs to sign up again so this felt like a good time to promote this project. SETI@Home is nice and I know a lot of people run it, but I think it's more important to contribute to something that can help other people on this earth.
