I got a bit of a bug in my ear this week from Spotify's Release Radar. The process of maintaining my FOTM playlist has been in no small part driven by the algorithm, but exceptionally heartfelt new tracks are not something that I encounter on a weekly basis.

This week, however, was one of the better ones.

I'd never heard of Disphing before this Friday, but incentive grabbed me from the first moments and never quite let go. The songwriting talent obviously just can't be ignored. I don't like to draw too many parallels, but Disphing's approach in some ways reminds me of a couple of my lately most beloved songwriters like Adam Tell, Grabbitz and Fox Stevenson. And to put that emotional payload into a, let's be real, danceable form, is just a treat for the soul.

Disphing apparently just put out an album so help yourself to it on Spotify. In the interest of full disclosure, the highlight I chose is my own perfect favorite from the entire album. But the emotions, joy (and madness?) that Disphing is intent on sharing with the wide world seem to be on great display in just about all of the tracks on the album. So, certainly, I'll be keeping my ear to the ground for what comes in the future!
